Here’s to you Cecil xo

The news today has been buzzing about the sad story of Cecil The Lion’s cruel, heartless and most pointless death.

Such a tragedy in my personal opinion. An innocent, beautiful animal brought down by a belief system that clearly doesn’t align with mine.

Emotions are raging, anger at “the dentist” who did it, sadness for Cecil, heartache-that’s what I felt anyway.

But spiritually what I noticed throughout the day were LIONS popping up everywhere! Videos, photos, stories, pleas for donations to help the lions. My awareness so heightened about LIONs.

It’s easy to get caught up in the drama of it all, instead I thought why not acknowledge the overwhelming awareness of LIONS today. (Mostly because I could not make sense of the story any other way.)

If you haven’t noticed, I have a fondness, a special place in my heart for LIONS. Maybe that’s why I felt compelled to write this tonight.

A very special LION has appeared on several occasions in meditations for me and LIONS have always stood out in movies (The Lion King, Narnia, MGM Studios, The Wizard of Oz…) and clearly you see there is a VERY special LION guiding my business.

So what can you learn from LIONS? How can this regal creature guide you in your dream life?

Definitely what a LION is most commonly recognized for…COURAGE. Having the heart of a LION is to be devoted to a lifestyle of mental, physical, and emotional courage. An excellent quality if you call yourself a dreamer.

LIONs represent PERSONAL POWER. As such, lions point to qualities of strength and assertiveness. Next time you’re faced with a situation calling for personal power, imagine yourself showing up as a LION and bring assertive presence to the situation. Your energy will shift things in your direction.

The LION shares the world of both night and day, offering you the symbolic message of balance and sound judgment. In other words, the LION reminds you to not overdo in certain areas of your life. Rather, keep an even mind and an overall BALANCE in your life activities. Everything exists in delicate balance-and that includes you.

Look into the gazing eyes of any LION and you will see WISDOM. This wisdom is not something the LION seeks outside of himself, it’s a calm knowing within. As Mufasa so profoundly told his LION cub son Simba in The LION King, “Look inside yourself, Simba. You are more than what you have become. Remember who you are.” I’ll say the same to you. Your wisdom is within you, next time you feel self-doubt creep in – remember who you are.

There is something to be said about having FEROCITY to pursue your dreams. Our feline friend the LION takes front and center for ferocity but we can boldly follow in his footsteps. We can take our dream by storm, be relentless and savage about stepping out of our comfort zone to get what we want.

And finally it goes without saying that LIONs stand for DIGNITY and JUSTICE. Two qualities I hope to see more of in the world so I don’t have to read about stories like Cecil’s. I want to live in a world where LOVE and RESPECT prevail.

So with that said, if you feel the way I feel about this LION, his life, his story and the ending to his time here with us, I ask that you join me in FORGIVENESS vs anger, UNDERSTANDING vs. condemnation for “the dentist”.

It’s easy to join in and feel angry, disgusted, enraged even…but that lowers YOUR vibration, it messes with your energetic flow in the vortex, it takes you out of alignment and that won’t bring your big dream to life.

Instead, treasure the LION-his symbolic message lives on.

If we can all send forgiveness, maybe it will put a stop to stories like this one. I cannot imagine “the dentist” is feeling anything proud, hopefully this will help him have an awakening of his own.

I’d much rather remember Cecil for the beauty he contributed to our world vs. the ending of his existence. He lives on, in our hearts and in the lives of those who knew him up close.

Here’s to you Cecil. xoxo

As they say…“A LION paces in every human heart. What quickens yours? What makes your lion roar?” Let today be the day you say YES to your dreams!

Is Your “Get-Up-And-Go” Gone?

tired-womanOn your marks….get set…..GO!”

“GO-GO-GO”….that seems to be the daily theme most women are living by. Are you?

A happy, healthy life is not about keeping up with the pace-it’s about setting your own pace based on what feels good for YOU.

At the end of the day…

Do you feel empowered and energized or drained and depleted?
Do you feel large-and in-charge and ready for more or overwhelmed and overcommitted?
Do you feel light, free, inspired and optimistic or weighed down with emotional burden?

If you’re not feeling good and your energy has tanked, you won’t have the precious vitality needed to bring your dreams to life.

If you feel like your “get-up-and-go”…is gone – it’s time for a change.

Nothing is missing.

flower to bloomIf you looked at you, at your life….as someone else who knew nothing about you, what would you see?

It’s an interesting question that popped in my mind today.

I was working on some of my goals, doing a bit of the comparing game-(I don’t recommend it by the way) and I let myself slip into a bit of …ho-hum, oh-gee I’m not even close to the level I want to grow to.

Ok. Enter shitty feeling. Yes, it happens to me too.

But then I took a step back and wondered what I would think of me if I didn’t know me. What would I see?

Would I see accomplishment? Strength, vitality, positivity? Would I think, wow that woman really looks…happy.

And I wondered why I wouldn’t let myself see that side of me instead of looking at what is apparently “missing”.

Are you with me? Have you ever felt this way? Do you ever look at your life and only see what’s missing? What you don’t have enough of, what isn’t good enough yet?

It’s a wicked game I’ve played all my life. At least now I catch myself before it gets any further.

I’ll let you in on something that changed my life. Nothing is missing. You have enough. Everything is good enough.

Really look at your life again-this time, see what is there that feels good. Notice how far you’ve come. Take note of all you DO have that IS working.

When you look at your life from that perspective, what could be missing?

We can learn from good ole Mother Nature on this one.

A flower for example that hasn’t bloomed yet doesn’t look to it’s neighbor flower and say…”look at their bloom, so big and beautiful. I’m nothing like that. All I have is this closed up flower. When will I ever get to bloom like that?”

You giggle, but it’s true isn’t it? We compare to others, we compare to an outcome we think we should have already and it creates suffering. We create our own suffering. Let’s not do that anymore-deal?

Try this next time you’re feeling like something is missing or you haven’t accomplished enough yet-simply look around your life for something you’re grateful for. Then say this:

“I love how this makes me feel and I’d love to have even more.”

Because the truth is, you have all you need to get more of what you want, more of what you love and ALL that you deserve. You just have to start from a place of feeling good to open the flood gates and let it all come pouring in.

Here’s my truth-I love me. I love my life. I have the most amazing relationships with my sons. I’m loved by a wonderful man that supports my dreams. I have a dog that melts my heart. I am healthy. I am surrounded by people that care about me. I am having fun in my business and in my life. I am abundant. I am wise. I am alive.

Now….you try it….what’s your truth?

If you looked at you, at your life….as someone else who knew nothing about you, what would you see?

Would you see a woman in charge? Is she running the show, happy, healthy and ready for more?

Or-

Would you see a woman trapped by responsibilities. Is she trying to keep up, a bit depressed, feeling crappy or overweight and ready to give up?

What would you think of her?

Would you think, wow, she’s amazing, how does she do it? Where does she get all that energy from and is she really that freakin’ happy? (and how do I get some of whatever she’s got goin on???)

Or-

Would you feel bad for her, wondering why she looks so tired? Thinking, what happened to her and why is she so sad?

Right now, make a list…what is good in your life, what are you grateful for, what IS working?

Then say it“I love how this makes me feel and I’d love to have even more.”

And, if you just can’t find a damn thing to put on your list, email me and let’s get to work. I know without a doubt, I can help you find your starting point, I can get you to feeling good again so you can get even more.

xoxo,
Nicole
