Have you ever found it difficult to stay positive?

When someone hears I’m a positivity expert, it almost instantly triggers them to say “I’m a positive person, I mean I try to stay positive”.

They say it almost as a confession, admitting it’s difficult to “stay positive”. They slip into negative and they feel bad about it. They actually beat themselves up for their negative feelings.

“Why do I always get this way?”
“Why can’t I stay positive?”
“Why am I feeling so crummy?”

Have you ever felt that way?

Are negative feelings normal?

You have an emotional scale. On one end, positive and the other, yes you guessed it, negative.

Emotions, positive or negative, are a tool to help you monitor your energy and your vibration.

It’s just like using a dimmer switch to turn on the lights. If you need to brighten the space, you turn the knob and the light gets brighter. You can do the same with your emotions to turn up the “light” within you and help you fill the space around you more positively.

What can you do if you slip into the land of negative emotions?

In today’s message we cover if negative feelings are normal and what you can do if you slip into the ‘bad land’ so you’re not stuffing your feelings or ignoring them.

And what’s worse, it’s highly contagious and a growing epidemic.

Are you online or connected?

We live in a “hurry-up-do-more-get-more” society, slaves to our calendars, smart phones, social media. Leaving many people today with the mindset – “I don’t have”….as in don’t have enough time, enough money, enough energy…enough of what I really want.

Living like a slave to calendars and responsibilities; people end up feeling stuck and wore out from the daily grind, asking themselves “is this all there is?” We’ve become an ‘online society’, smartphone dependent driven by the need to feel connected.

  • 68% of Americans own a smartphone, up from 35 percent four years ago
  • 77% of people regularly experience physical symptoms caused by stress
  • 73% regularly experience psychological symptoms
  • 31% Employed adults who say they have difficulty managing work and family responsibilities
  • 48% Feel their stress has increased over the past five years
  • 75%-90% of doctor visits are driven by stress

But what is stress?

Stress happens when you think or feel you can’t cope with pressure and this pressure comes in many shapes and forms, and triggers physiological responses. It’s what you’ve heard called Fight or Flight.

Pressure itself is not bad. In fact, you may thrive on it.

But when those pressures exceed your ability to cope, or go beyond temporary and fall into a risk category of a chronic way of living, that’s when the problems start.

What does this stress and break down of coping look like in ‘real life’?

  • Anxiety disorders affect 40 million adults in the United States
  • Depression affects approximately 14.8 million American adults
  • Millions suffer from gastrointestinal problems, tension headaches, chronic fatigue, brain fog and more all because of negative thoughts.

So while people are living ‘online’ and connected to the world, they’re actually living ‘shut down’ disconnected from self, disconnected from source-distracted from their ‘inner knowing’.

Living this way manifests negatively in your life and depletes your life force energy. You lose clarity and hope that what you really want is possible.

How do you stay in balance between ‘online’ and ‘connected’?

Remember you are a human being living on human time. You don’t need more time and space, you need less stuff, less clutter, less pointless scrambling and distractions. You need down time to go to that quiet place within and connect. Let’s call that place your own “INNER-net”.

ACT WELL TIP: Your body will never lie to you. Learning to read your body’s signals and adjust is the key to healthy living and having the vital energy you need to live an amazing life. Otherwise you are sure to hit the point of burn out and then it’s a lot harder to repair and recover.

Symptoms of stress act as your early warning signals. Understand symptoms have one purpose and that is to signal you are out of balance, that your energy is decreasing and pressure is increasing.

Decrease your pressure and increase your energy and you have the right combination.

Negativity is an epidemic. And I’m on a mission to make a positive difference in this world.

Negativity transfers like second hand smoke and can take over any space, room, meeting or conversation. It’s everywhere, at home, at work, in relationships and in every public space.

There’s no corner it cannot seep into…unless you take a stand and protect your mind.

    • 85% of Americans are miserable in their jobs, the place we spend the most hours of our life
    • More than 2 million Americans are voluntarily leaving their jobs or thinking about it every minute of the day
    • The average work week has increased to 70 hours, even more if you count all the minutes those individuals spend stressing about ‘going back to that place’.
    • There’s no disconnect and back on Monday, most people access their work email every day of the week trying to keep up with deadlines and co-worker competition.

Many of us are just used to being mildly negative – without even noticing it.

Complaining is as habitual as reaching for greasy, salty or sugar loaded junk food and in many ways, equally as dangerous to your energy.

You have approximately 60-70,000 thoughts every day. Of those 60-70,000 thoughts, 85% are from yesterday and the day before that and the day before that.

Not that big of a deal however 75% of those thoughts are negative. If you do the rough math, you can average about 45,000 negative thoughts every day.

Can positivity end negativity?

Research is beginning to reveal that positive thinking is much more than just being happy or displaying an upbeat attitude. Positive thoughts create real value in your life and help you build skills that last much longer than a smile.

  • Positivity increases productivity by 30%
  • When you’re positive, you’re creative, open, allowing, giving you clarity to solve problems and generate new ideas

Negative thinking narrows, depresses your energy and minimizes your soul.


Positivity expands, creates a thriving environment and brings light into dark spaces, awakening your soul.

Treat positivity as a practice!

There’s so much going on in the world right now, heavy things. This should be the greatest time to be alive and yet so many people are unhappy, unfulfilled, fearful. Why??

When life gets crazy or heavy, it’s easy to “forget” what you truly enjoy, to go blank about the little things that lift your spirits and ultimately forget ‘you’ in the process.

You get so used to dealing with the mess of life that you stop doing those little things, or worse you reach for things that have a short term lift with long term penalties. (sugary snacks, over spending, watching too much tv, checking out, etc)

ACT WELL TIP: Create your own “Joy List”. Include hobbies, exercise, activity, foods, people, places you go. This list has everything and anything you can think of that brings you joy. Add a minimum of 1-2 things per day.

We need to join together and create a “tidal wave of positivity”.

Treat positivity as a practice, just like you would yoga or any skill or muscle you’re trying to strengthen. It’s not a one time decision or one time action.

Energy is energy, it’s only transferred – you replenish, restore, restock so if/when you need it, you have full surplus. Because as much as I’d love to say once you’re in a positive energy everything around you stays that way, life takes unexpected turns. I don’t say that to be glum, but you can’t just wipe a smile on, say you’re fine and expect positive results.

Practicing positivity is not to help you feel good for now, this is to help you create a life you love forever.

  • Be present, tune in to your energy.
  • Use your body as your guide.
  • Notice your words, what story are you telling?
  • Unplug, disengage from the right things and take action on the right things
  • Live an inspired life
  • Don’t buy into the bull

Who you’re dreaming with can help your progress or slow it down, keep you on track or knock you off balance.

It’s important to surround yourself with positive, like-minded people.

21 Days To Release OLD Energy!

Even when I find something that works, I like to change it up now and then to keep my systems alert and my body responsive.

So why target BELLY FAT on your dream work journey?

Think of fat as old energy. Energy that’s not serving you, it’s literally ‘weighing you down’.

One of my favorite scientists (yes, I have a favorite scientist!) Bruce Lipton, PhD alerted us to physiological changes that occur in our cells and our bodies as a result of our thoughts and emotions. Fat is simply old, negative thoughts and emotions that need to be released.

So for some, fat can start with emotions like fear, anger and resentment.

Feeling over weight, sluggish or thicker around the middle can cause frustration, decreased self-esteem and even downward spiraling energy – none of which helps you get what you want.

If you are extremely sensitive, weight-loss can be a bigger challenge for you more than others.

Because you feel more deeply and experience other people’s emotions almost as your own. If you’re not careful, or not clearing negative energy you pick up, your body responds by creating a physical barrier around the middle to protect you.

So although your ability to connect emotionally can be a great asset, it can also create a struggle to lose weight and keep it off.

Of course that’s not the case entirely, diet, sleep and exercise play a key role as well. But if you have ever been told you’re ‘too sensitive’ and you struggle with weight loss no matter what you’ve tried, this 21 day plan would be awesome for you to participate in.

Carrying around excess weight in the middle is not only risky business, it’s exhausting. You need energy to pursue your dreams.

What Your Intuition Is Really Trying To Tell You

There’s something we’ve all done at one point or another. We play the comparing game.

And it’s even easier to do with social media and reality TV portraying a ‘perfect life’ for the person on display.

You see the pictures reflecting their perfect vacation, perfect family, perfect relationship and think “I don’t have that”.

Your energy drops like a lead brick with every comparing thought leaving you feeling lower than low.

The comparing game is dangerous to your dream manifesting success, and it’s a game you’ll never win.

When you compare yourself to others, you only compare ‘your worst to their best’.

If you’re feeling tired or wore down or struggling with something extra emotional, it can sneak in while your energy is low and distort what your intuition is really trying to tell you.

For example, you’re in a rough spot financially. You’re stressed and not sleeping well as a result. You find yourself skimming through your Facebook feed. You see an old high school friend just took a dream vacation to Europe with their entire family, a place you’ve wanted to visit for years. Your thoughts start trailing off to “I’ll never get to Europe, look even they have done it but here I sit, stuck. All these years later and I’m not even able to take my family to Europe. What are they doing right that I can’t seem to figure out.”

Your mind trails off to every little thing that’s not going right, how there’s not enough time, you can’t keep up with everything there’s not enough money and you start to feel depressed or miserable. Your thoughts finally land on something low grade like “I’ve failed”.

It’s not uncommon, it happens to everyone.

If you find yourself comparing, STOP and walk away.

In this week’s message I share what your intuition is really trying to tell you by noticing the good in someone else or in their life and how you can use it to get more of what you want.

My Coach Totally Busted Me!

This week we dive into the right language to use when talking about your dreams.

I was in a session with my coach and she totally busted me! She caught me talking about my dream in future tense which is a no-no when working on manifesting what you want.

Not only was I talking in future terms…

“…when it happens…”

“…maybe it will happen…”

“…I can’t wait until…”

I was also using word and phrases that were laced with doubt…if, when, maybe. My energy was sending out thoughts to the universe that were pushing my dream farther away keeping a gap between my dream and what I want in my life.

My coach said…”Nicole, stop that! You’re talking about your dream like it’s far away, stop that!” We laughed because as a coach, I’m suppose to know better. But even I get caught up in doubt, self-limiting thoughts and beliefs…hello, that’s why I have a coach!

I was so grateful she pointed it out to me. I just didn’t realize how much I was talking about and thinking about my dream with a “hopefully it happens someday” kind of energy. Even saying “it’s happening” is still future tense.

And to make sure I really received the message. later in the week I heard someone else doing it. They did the same thing, “…when it happens…it will be awhile but…it’ll hopefully all come together”.  Busted!

So this is your reminder, or lesson in case you didn’t know, stop “coach swearing” (that’s what my coaching and I decided to call it!)

Talk about your dream in present tense, it’s here…in fact, it already happened!

Better yet, take these few short but powerful steps to bring it forward even faster and keep you on track and consistent. Your thoughts, energy and words will align and send out the right message to the universe, you’ll have the right energy when you take action on your dreams.

  1. Write out your dream, in detail, present tense. “I am so happy now that…having this is so fulfilling because…this is what I wanted and more” and so on.
  2. Speak your dream forward. Read your words out loud, even better if in front of the mirror while you look yourself in the eye. This is a powerful way to make your words reality, to proclaim to not only the universe but to yourself that what you dream of is already here.
  3. Repeat, repeat, repeat! Read your written dream so many times it feels like a memory. It already happened, describe the wonderful details to yourself and others just like you would any wonderful memory. Your subconscious mind does not know the difference between what is reality and what you create as reality, it has no sense of time. Everything is right now. So live in your dream now. By doing this, you align your energy and your dream to bring it all together and connect the dots.
  4. Celebrate and show up expecting the best. That’s right, live your life as if your dreams have already happened. In the quantum field they already have, you are simply expecting the very best to show up for you in what we can call ‘real time’. If you knew your dreams were guaranteed to happen, how would you show up? What kind of energy would you have? Don’t wait, show up that way now.

These are important tips because you don’t get what you wish for, you get what you believe, you get what you tell  yourself and what you tell others. Speak your dream forward and live your big dreams now!

And by all means, stop “coach swearing”!!!

You matter and I’m here to hold you to it!

“I don’t have time.”

“I’m so, busy and overwhelmed that I’m not setting aside the time do what I need to or what I want to.”

“I want to focus on me, but it feels impossible.”

“And it’s no one’s fault but my own.”

“I just need to make some time to do it.”

If that’s what’s going on in your head or the story you’re saying out loud. Stop right now.

Time is a funny thing, it feels like there’s never enough. But believe it or not, that’s a mindset not a truth.

There is enough, but for whatever the reason, your days are not full of what you really want leaving you feeling behind, empty, frustrated or discouraged. Ultimately, leaving you feeling last on the list.

I’m here to remind you, you deserve better.

Check out this exercise to help you get clear on WHY time is slipping away from you. Why you are not your first priority.

I promise, it will only take you 5 minutes or less. And if you don’t have at least 5 minutes, pick up your phone and call me right now, I’m calling code red, we’re in emergency mode!!!!

You’ll need a pen and paper for this one.

Set a timer for 1 minutes. Not an hour, just 1 minute.

Write the first question on your paper. Then start writing whatever comes through. Keep writing until you have nothing left or the timer goes off.

As you ask yourself the following questions – answer truthfully, whatever FIRST pops in your mind:

1) What keeps getting in the way of making myself a priority?

2) What am I telling myself is more important than me?

3) Why do I feel these things are more important than me?

4) Why am I important? Why do I deserve to be my first priority?

*5) Bonus question: What happens if I don’t make a change and put myself first?

Ok, how did you do?

You can certainly spend more time with these questions…and your answers, but doing this fast eliminates the filter you use to tell you why it’s ok, why it’s fine, why it’s not forever, why it’s just the way your life is, etc.

I call bullcrap on that. You matter. You are a priority and I’m here to hold you to it.

Enough is enough. You can’t keep scrambling your way through your life if you’re not happy and you’re not feeling fulfilled.

You get one shot at today, one shot at tomorrow…you owe it to yourself to make them as blissful as possible. Because time goes by with or without your joy.

Fennel Essential Oil For Gut Health?

The burden of gastrointestinal disorders and poor gut health is ever increasing. In fact the numbers are staggering at 60 to 70 million people affected by all digestive diseases!

For anyone that’s suffered from any of these miserable symptoms I’ve mentioned, I feel your pain.

Yes, I suffered from a range of issues for years, depending on what I was dealing with in my life. As my anxiety or heavy thoughts would rise and fall my gut would go right along – and my energy as well. I was a mess inside for most of my life.

Most people are surprised when I share that because they see me now, feeling good, calm, happy and elevated. It took me years of discovering the root cause, trying products, foods, energy exercises, reprogramming my mindset to resolve my symptoms.

I’m here to share what I’ve learned with you, so you don’t have to wait years to feel as good as I do.

Are you planning for success?

I love when a client starts implementing positive, simple changes to their daily life. Limits and boundaries are demolished, the flood gates open and wonderful possibilities become amazing reality.

It’s not a fluke, not an accident. We hit the ground running with a plan. We set the table for success with intention. We clarify what they want.

Too many people go through their days focused on what they don’t want to happen, this sets the expectation that’s what will show up. And they are right. Thinking about what you don’t want is basically planning for it to happen.

Imagine you were hosting a dinner party..

You would plan for success yes?

Your imagination would take over as you joyfully put the details together.

You would purposefully take action, moving through each step, with the end vision in mind – your guests having an amazing time at your dinner party.

It’s no different when you want something new in your life whether it be a new job, growing your business, finding a great relationship – set your expectation then joyfully plan for success.

Getting more of what you want in life is just like planning a dinner party. You set your expectation, plan for success – and take action on what you want with joy!

You purposefully take action as you move through each step with your end vision in mind which is – you getting exactly what you intended.

Yet too many times people set their expectation and then they stop, then they worry, and eventually they doubt.

Here are a few common mistakes that keep people from getting what they want and how to effectively set your expectation and plan for success:

  • They don’t have a clear vision. Just like deciding to host a dinner party, decide what you really want as an end result or outcome.
  • They don’t plan. You would create lists throughout the planning process for your dinner party, the same goes for getting what you want. Write it out!
  • They don’t take action. When planning for a dinner party, you create a timeline for your list items and final event and you take action to get them done. To get what  you want, you must take action on your plan.
  • They worry they will not get what they want. While you may stress a bit during the prepping for a dinner party, you have full expectation that the outcome will be a success. Apply the same energy to your life goals, expect the best as your outcome.

The process for success is the same whether you’re planning a simple party, or trying to lose weight, write a book or any other life goal.
